Thanks for checking us out! Co-founders Seth and Jessie started this business in July 2011, as table vendors at the Seaport Farmers' Market on weekends. Our first products were dehydrated kale chips, and raw granola bars. Within a year we had grown our product selection, and moved into a permanent storefront kitchen at the farmers' market, open 7 days a week, with the addition of fresh meals, salads and smoothies on the menu. 

In February 2019 we opened the doors at our current location in the North End. Everything was going so well... and then in March 2020 the pandemic hit, and a long year of lockdowns put everything on hold. We decided we needed to adapt our business model, in order to brave the pandemic and meet the changing needs of our customers. 

So, we transformed our restaurant into Halifax’s first plant-based grocery market. Our dining room furniture was swapped out for shelves full of products. We carried all the essentials, plus we brought in hard-to-find vegan treats. It was a pivot that helped get us through the uncertain years from 2020-2023. We still have a little pantry section, but it is no longer the emphasis of what we do.

Over the past year or so we've been slowly reintroducing dine-in service, and making space for the dining room again. We've expanded the menu and our focus is back on the restaurant and doing what we love - feeding you! 

You can dine-in with us, or take a meal to-go. Our menu consists of healthy comfort foods, with fresh and bold flavours. The meals are large and satisfying for vegans and omnivores alike. Be sure to check out our menu page to see our full selection!

We also offer catering for small events and office lunches, as well as a weekly meal service called the Vegan Meal Club

We owe our success to our hardworking staff team, and our wonderful customers who have stuck with us over the past decade while we grew, made mistakes, learned, and evolved.
